Elle mourait tout doucement
ma tante, ma seconde maman,
toute seule, à l'asile populaire,
graspant à peine une bouffée d'air,
déjà certaine du dernier soupir,
résignée, l'attendant sans gémir.
Je pris une cuillérée de bouillie,
la mis à sa bouche.
Une larme jaillit de son oeil,
peut être à la vision
dans ses bras me donnant le biberon.
'Tu sais, tu es comme ma mère'
lui dis je, étouffant mes larmes amères.
À Nin
11 mai 2011
She was dying quietly,
my aunt, my second Mom,
alone. in a popular asylum,
A breath of air grasping hardly,
a last sigh, Death , yet on sight,
resigned without complain of her might...
I took a spoonful of porridge,
set to her mouth, a tear sprang a stage
in her eye, at the vision of me
in her arm, giving the bottle, maybe...
' You know, You 're like my mother '
I said, stifling of tears, bitter....
Moriva lentamente,
Mia zia, la mia seconda madre,
Sola in un ricovero popolare,
Prendendo a fatica un’ultima boccata d’aria,
Rassegnata alla morte,
Senza lamenti ...
Ho preso un cucchiaio di porridge,
L’ho messo nella sua bocca…
Dai suoi occhi una lacrima è sgorgata
Forse al ricordo di me nelle sue braccia
Dandomi il poppatoio, forse…
“Sai, tu sei come la mia mamma
Dissi, trattenendo le mie amare lacrime.”
